One questions that I often get asked is whether I prefer Jira or Trello. And to be honest I like both and consider both great tools. So how should you choose between them?
Here’s how I would do it:
-If you want a Free, simple, easy to use tool and you’re mainly after the Agile Kanban Board functionality (so writing up your user stories, managing them and your sprints) Trello would be the right tool for you. It works like a charm.
-Trello doesn’t have Burndown charts and Velocity charts by default, but there are extensions and addons which expand to allow this functionality. Again, Trello is more minimalistic and basic than Jira.
-Now if you want a really powerful and robust tool, which covers everything including Burndown charts, Velocity charts and so on, then Jira is the tool for you. But you will have to pay for it.
Those are my thoughts on this topic, but I’ll let the community share about their own preference.
So if you have experience with both tools and want to share which one you like better and why, feel free to write your comments below.
